Feijoa is a fruit native to South America, but we are lucky enough to have plentiful supplies available to us here in New Zealand. The trees are extremely prolific and produce buckets-full of fruit during their season.  They are delicious eaten fresh, straight from the tree, chopped in half and the flesh scooped out with a spoon. Their unique flavour also works incredibly well in cakes, crumbles and muffins.  The following video is rather entertaining, featuring little Olivia baking a batch of Feijoa Muffins.  Olivia has her own You Tube channel at Olivia’s Kitchen. Thanks to Olivia’s mum for permission to use this video here. If you wish, scroll down below the video to print this recipe.
